Katy TX Hurricane Relief & Cleanup
WHAT WE ARE DOING: We are raising funds to purchase and distribute gifts cards from HEB, Target, and Home Depot to families whose homes have flooded in the Barker Reservoir.
WHO WE ARE: The Katy Xtreme Softball is a 10U girls softball team based out of Katy, TX, one of the hardest hit areas of Hurricane Harvey. Our families were fortunate enough to stay dry, however our community, much of it near the Barker Reservoir, have homes overcome by flood waters.
HOW ARE RECIPIENTS SELECTED: The head coach, and I, Rachel Martinez, team manager, will identify recipients. Currently, we have identified two teachers of our children who have lost everything.
WHAT WILL THEY RECEIVE: Ideally, we'd like to give each family $100 gift cards to each of the above, but it will depend how much we raise.
HOW WILL THEY GET IT: I will personally deliver the gift cards. We are hoping to purchase clean-up supplies through an Amazon Wish List , as well. Feel free to help there, too. Shipping address is located in the left hand margin on the landing page.
RECEIPTS: KatyXtreme 08, is a 501(c)3 organization and we will be able to provide a tax receipt in the coming weeks, if requested.
It's not a lot, but it's a start. Our community has a long road ahead!
