kat's survival during accident recovery

Long story lost when ChipIn got bought out and I didn't save everything.

Short story - two years ago a car accident put me out of commission. Surgery will make me worse and guarantee future surgeries (too young) since they only do Fusions here and not disc replacements like the military does. So I'm learning to live with a debilitating spine situation, brain & brain stem injuries, and how to adjust life accordingly without federal or state assistance.

The great state of Texas, in its infinite wisdom, denies all disability applicants regardless and I'm awaiting a hearing on my second appeal - yes I have a lawyer. It MAY happen sometime between now (May 2013) and August. (Update: happens November 20, 2013)

Until then, I continue to live off of $200 foodstamps and whatever donations I can collect to pay for my existence. Currently, I'm living in the back room of an unfinished garage with no plumbing. (Update: moved to an apartment=now have rent to come up with, but have running water, toilet, and kitchen now!)

I'm raising funds to pay for rent ($287.50), gas/insurance (~$60/mo = can't ride buses, bikes, or walk and carry, so i share cars with others and get rides), utilities (~50/mo), medical care/therapy (~$200/mo), food($150-200 over food stamps), water ($6/mo), and random incidentals (like soap, toothpaste, laundry, etc.).

Every little bit helps, even $1! <= buys 5 gallons of water
