Friends and family who are aware of my situation have continuously asked how they can help.  Please feel free to use this method as an option for providing support.

Here's my story: In November 2016 I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, a cancerous tumor on my left nostril.  Yes, it is a form of skin cancer and it's not terminal.  However, the surgeries required will remove most of the left side of my nose

In order to cure me the procedures are specialized and approximately 10 trips to Edmonton, AB over  3 months will be mandatory, commencing mid March.  Saskhealth covers the surgeries but not expenses.  Expenses include, gas, food, hotel, and a required travel parnter for each trip. One trip was made to the two specialists just before Christmas.

The clinical terms for these surgeries are Mohs (removal of tumor), paramedian forehead flap & conchal cartilage graft(reconstruction), and flap divde.  Once these surgeries ar completed 6 weeks of dermabrasion and steriod injections will be required to assist with deminishing the facial scars.
Three dates have been put into place so far: February 15 - physical with GP in Saskatoon; March 14 - Edmonton, template scan (mold of nose) and preclinical admission session at Grey Nun's Hospital; April 7 - Reconstructive surgery.  The date for removal will be two days before reconstruction, just waiting on confirmation.  

This is definately a challenging part of my journey, but with the support with friends and family I will come out stronger.  Those who know me, know that the shining star in my life is my baby boy, Seamus, and he inspires me to keep going.  Since my diagnosis I've had a roller coaster of feelings and even on the days when I think I can't keep going, my son will randomly say "You're the best, sweetest mommy in the whole world".  These words touch my heart and are a sign of my higher power telling me I'm worth fighting for.
