Katrina’s fight to live

For those of you who don’t know mum was rushed to hospital with a terrible pain in her stomach. At first the doctors thought it was going to be a simple bowel obstruction removal. However, during Mums surgery the doctors found terminal stage 4 metastatic bowel cancer, which had spread to her thyroid, intestines, chest lymph nodes, lungs, stomach and bladder. 

After a partial bowel and bladder removal Mum recovered well enough to begin her battle with cancer.

The public health system has done a fantastic job of caring for Mum so far. Unfortunately there are still many tests, specialist appointments and holistic healthcare that are not fully covered.

With the help of all of you, we are hoping to allow Mum to make decisions based on what she and the doctors think is best for her and not what she can afford. It is Mums wish to see her grandchildren grow up and with all your generous donations you can help her achieve this.

Although she won’t fully recover, we want to make sure she has the best and happiest life possible.

Jayden, Mel, Jack, Kaitlyn, Tracey and Justin have all decided to either run/walk/ride a certain distance. As mum is pushing her body to her limit, we wanted to do the same, but in a different way. 

We would love for you to all join us on a special day that will consolidate the end of this fundraiser and where we can thank you all for your generous donations.

Feel free to join us and come along to this event. You can run/walk/ride any distance you like or you can hang around at the park ready for the bbq lunch.

When: 27th February 

What: run/walk/ride event and a free bbq lunch

Where: Rokeby rail trail- 2 Ash grove, Rokeby

Time: 9am for the run/walk/ride and 12noon for the bbq lunch (snags in bread will be provided)

Throughout her journey we will post regular updates and we will leave this go fund me open if you would like to donate after the 6th of February.
