We have created this campaign to help a colleague of us who unfortunately is going thru a very difficult and desperate situation. I'm reaching out to you to in hopes that you can help NOW.
I’m writing to tell you about Katrina Rey, an excellent person faced with a serious health issue. The very long story short… On May 2017, Kat felt a minor neck paralysis because her spinal cord fluid did not flow properly, her doctor recommended a cervical laminectomy surgery, she was told the surgery involved acceptable risk and the rehabilitation process would not last more than 2 months. After the treatment, she would be back to normal.
After 12 hours of surgery, Kat could not move. The implant had mistakenly touched her spine which paralyzed her limbs. Shortly after, she underwent a second 8 hours surgery but without improvements.
As a result of these operations, her legs and right arm are paralyzed and she has a catheter connected to her bladder.
Kat had to leave the hospital because her insurance only covers surgery. To make matters worse, her father passed away when Kat was in the hospital. Her father provided most of the household income, Kat is no longer receiving help or financial assistance on any kind.
Kat owes 7,500 dollars on past due medical bills and she needs therapy at a cost 1,600 dollars per month.
Kat is surrounded by friends who are helping her to what little they can and It’s very remarkable that in the face of adversity she remains in very good spirits.
