Katrina came to work for me at my Childcare Center first back in March 2016. She was only 22 years old looking for a job in her chosen career of Early Childhood Education and shortly after needed care for her 5 -month old niece Taylor. We hired her and then welcomed this beautiful baby into our care, a decision that would become one of the best made. Katrina is one of those employees that comes in every day on time, with a smile on her face and ready to work. She gets along well with her Co-Teachers, Parents and Guardians of our children and absolutely loves all the children in our Center. Most 22- year old young women are certainly not taking on responsibility like raising their niece, but Katrina’s sister ran into some difficult times, and was not able to care for her infant. With no other family member either willing or able to take Taylor in, Katrina made the decision to help in effort to keep her from going into Foster Care. Almost 5 years later both Katrina and Taylor are thriving. Katrina is almost done with her degree in Early Childhood Education and Taylor excelling in our Center’s Prekindergarten classroom. Meanwhile her sister, Taylor’s biological Mother got out of prison, and ignoring Katrina’s attempts to work out a visitation agreement, showed up to her home, snatched Taylor and drove away. Katrina has not been able to speak to or see Taylor since, this child that is a daughter to her, and Katrina the only Mother that this child has ever known. The circumstances as to where and who this child is living with is not a good one. Katrina has hired an attorney that feels she has a good case to at the least get visitation. That is why I am asking for your help with this. Child Care Center Teachers do not make great money, but Katrina has used her savings to pay a $1500 initial retainer fee and I plan to help as much as possible. If you are able please donate what you can. We can help improve the life of a young girl whose future is now uncertain without the love and guidance of the only Mother she has ever known, Katrina. Thank you so much for your time and attention and thank you in advance for your help!
