Katlyn's Medical Fund

In 2015, Katlyn was diganosed with Stage 3 Adrenal Cancer. This is a very rare and aggressive  cancer, like 1 in every million people rare! We traveled to Ann Arbor to see an adrenal cancer expert, Dr. Gary Hammer. He started her on an oral chemotherapy treatment, but unfortunately Katlyn's body only absorbed the medicine- it did not fight the cancer. It was soon discovered that the cancer had metastasized to her lungs, 60 to 80 percent of adrenal cancers spread to either the lungs or the stomach. In May of 2016, she began a very intense form of IV chemotherapy. After eights rounds of this regimen (that is all that is recommended because one of the drugs will begin to affect the heart) Dr. Hammer has now switched her to a different regimen using different chemo drugs. She began this new chemo treatment on June 7th. While this is not as aggressive, it still comes with side-effects.
Throughout this journey, Katlyn has been a pillar of strength! She always has a smile even when she feels awful and has rarely complained.
Her journey and story have an unknown destination right now, but she has been blessed with so many people who have come into her life. She has had many people ask how they can support and help her, so the decision was made to set up this GoFundMe for her current and future medical expenses.
