Hi, my name is Katie, and I am 10 years old. Everyday I take classes at Toronto Dance Industry. It's my dream to be a dance teacher when I grow up, and to open up my own dance school, so I can teach other kids to love dance and share my knowledge with them.
My favourite thing about dance is that when I dance I can be free. For me, when I dance, it takes me to a different world. A world where nothing can bother me. My parents say that I am a special kid because I have known my passion ever since I was five, and that some grown ups don't even know what thier passion is.
This summer I have an opportunity to go to New York and take workshops at some of the world's most famous dance schools, like Broadway Dance Centre, The Joffrey Ballet School and others. I'm so excited, I wish I could go RIGHT NOW!! But Mom says I'll appreciate it even more if I help earn some of the money for the trip myself. I'm working really hard selling chocolate bars to my friends and nieghbours, but I can only sell so much chocolate bars.
