Friday night thankfulness. There are no adequate words to express myself over the outpouring of love and support I’ve received. Between this fundraiser and the blessings I’ve received directly, I have been able to catch up on my mortgage and pay a few other delinquent bills. My needs have been met and my heart is soothed. I’m so appreciative to be surrounded by so many people that care about my wellbeing. I’m turning off donations, but I encourage everyone who is able to be a joyous giver wherever there might be a need. Tonight I go to bed with the most peace I’ve felt in years and there are other’s who need this same peace. Thank you all from my entire heart ❤️
My name is Katie Brown and I have to ask for help, from friends, from strangers, from anyone who might be able, and willing. I’m embarrassed, to say the least, that it’s come to this, mostly because I made some terrible choices a few years ago when I wasn’t mentally well that are still affecting my financial life today. My pride stings because I’m going to be judged by people, but my heart knows there is only one true Judge; and I need help, so I have to ask. I’m out of options, and I’m behind on every bill. I work hard, but it’s just not enough to make up for the mistakes I made…and maybe I waited too long to start that hard work, but the mind isn’t always easy to mend. There is hope on my horizon, I am in the process of onboarding for a job that will support me financially - and help me catch up - but that job may not start for another two months. My mortgage won’t wait that long, and my current job leaves me physically ill because of the strain the heat and the pace put on my body. I’m not looking to quit my current job and rely on handouts, I’m just looking to not have extra stress on myself while I finish out this season of hardship. I gave up things most might not consider luxuries and I’m okay with that, but I live in fear. Fear that foreclosure proceedings are going to start on the house I’ve owned for 21 years; the mortgage company modified my loan in May and I’m already behind again - they will give no further forgiveness. I live in fear that I’m going to wake up one day and the car my parents let me drive is going to have been towed from in front of my house - because the HOA says they have the ability to revoke my parking for delinquent dues (it already happened once.) I live in fear that my water or electric are going to be cut off again and next time I won’t be able to borrow or scrounge together the money to turn it back on. I’m a good person, if someone “deserves” help, I’d say I fit the bill, but I realize the implication of asking and saying I “deserve” it. If you’re able, please consider helping me through this, hopefully, last stretch; my heart is screaming for relief. I don’t know what else to say, except thank you - weather you can help financially or through prayer - thank you.
