Katie's Parkinson's Summer School

My wife Katie was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in September of 2013.   This year in February, Katie was introduced to a doctor out of Seattle.  She is part of an Integrative Parkinson's Clinic.  Integrative Medicine by definition is "a healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies."  This type of approach felt so refreshing and has given Katie a renewed sense of hope!

Through this new clinic in Seattle, Katie has been invited to take part in a 4 day Parkinson's Summer School in which 3 Parkinson's specialist from around the country along with exercise, nutrition, and therapy specialists will work with the only 20 participants to come up with a personalized plan for Katie.  Katie and I prayed together and determined this invitation was too good to pass up!  

Katie will travel to Seattle on August 13th to begin this journey.  Through this gofundme page, you are able to come alongside our family to help with the expenses of sending Katie to Seattle for this unique opportunity.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers for this trip, the doctors, for Katie as she continues to battle this disease, and ultimately for a cure!  Although Katie struggles daily, she continues to be hopeful and positive.  Pray that the Lord continues to use this diagnosis to reach others for Him!
