Hey Folks!
I'm Katie Teator if you don't know me and I'm traveling to Montrouis, Haiti in the spring of 2015 with an organization called Together We Can (TWC)! This page is just to explain what the trip is about and provide a couple ways that you can support me and my team.
TWC is a strategic nonprofit organization aiming to empower others and transform lives, and they accomplish that in many different ways. You can read more about them on their website here. I'm excited and thankful to have the opportunity to travel with TWC and be in the Montruis community for a short time to learn from and serve the people. Team members will be involved in activities with children in the schools, orphanage outreach, agriculture project work, English enrichment activities with adults and children, basic construction and painting, and many other possibilities.
My motivation for going on this trip is to share the love of Christ that has so impacted me, and to step outside of my Americanized-comfort zone. I went to Haiti the summer before last on a mission trip and it was an experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I now have the chance to return and do life with the Haitian people for my spring break. Ultimately, my hope is that I will be able to offer the message and love of Jesus to people in Montruis and to others on my team.
I'm inviting you to be a part of this. We are going to able to empower this community and transform their lives through the gospel and through building community infrastructure. This is huge. We need prayer as we prepare and as we go. Also, the cost for the trip is $1400 including travel costs, housing, and food for the week. I'll need people to be a part of my team in supporting me financially because I'm a college student using my spring break to go to Haiti but I cannot do it alone. I believe that God has blessed us all with different ways to be generous, this time for me it is availability and for you it may be prayer or financial support. Please consider partnering with me to impact Haiti and feel free to ask me any questions you have about the trip or my motivation to go. I think that's about it... I'm thankful for each of you reading this because it shows that you're interested in serving others which is a huge encouragement to me. I still find it crazy that I'm going back to Haiti in March but I'm growing more excited for this adventure every day.
