Katie Summerlot Memorial

Katie Summerlot was a bubbly, loving 31-year-old new wife who absolutely adored her husband, Darin. She loved the Lord's church, she loved to care for others, she loved to laugh, and she loved to be in the midst of all her family, friends, and loved ones.  Her life here on earth was cut short on August 11 in a tragic car accident. She touched so many lives in such a loving, caring, positive way and will be so immensely missed. The two were just beginning what should have been very long lives together. She was the the one who unified and solidified our bonds through the compassion she had for every single person in her life. We love her so much and know she is in a much better place than this earth and we long to see her again some day.

2 Cor. 1:3-7

In lieu of flowers in Katie's memory, the family has requested support to help defray expenses and to create a memorial to Katie in the future.

From Darin:

Katie was the glow that brought life to the room.  She had a smile that warmed your very soul. She would become my light where I could not see through the dark.  She became my direction in life once again. Her heart was tender and open to all.  She cared so deeply that it would cause her pain at times. She loved with everything she had to offer and more to anyone who would accept it. She is without question the most beautiful, most precious, most incredible blessing that has ever graced my life.

"I thought we would be together for the rest of our lives, but we were only together for the rest of hers."

Proverbs 18:22

I don't know where you are in your life, but if you would have met Katie she would have been your best friend. She loved to love others, and more than that she loved the Lord. She would talk to you about how much Jesus and the Church that he established is the greatest comfort we can find on this earth, and she would want everyone she talked to to be with her in paradise. For her, I beg each of you reading this to understand what made this woman of God so incredible in my life and so so so many others. Whatever life has brought your way, no matter how thick the fog, and however hard it is to see at times, God Never Fails.

This link is to our home congregation where we grew up together. She would love for anyone to come and see, or call and tell them Katie Summerlot sent you. https://www.pblcoc.org/
