Kathy's Hurricane Harvey Recovery

Please consider donating to help Kathy replace the home she lost to Hurricane Harvey. She's lost so much in the past few years, and this, nearly the last of it.
In late 2010, her husband Keith was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer which had already metastasized by the time it was diagnosed. As an educator in the department of corrections, Keith had to retire with his retirement investments at a low, due to the great recession, because of the security risk his symptoms posed in a prison environment. Shortly after, they lost the home they'd built to foreclosure as so many did that year. They decided it was time to retire, and bought an RV so they could travel freely. Though it was with a fair amount fewer resources than they'd planned for, they enjoyed the sunny weather of Texas in winter, and being near their daughter, son-in-law and grandson in the summer.
In the summer of 2016, after a long and painful fight with cancer, Keith went to be with God. Kathy misses him every day. A year later while Kathy was spending time in Wisconsin, meeting her new Grandson, Hurricane Harvey destroyed the last home Keith and Kathy had shared. It has been financially and emotionally devastating to her. She has made it for these past months due to the kindness, generosity, and hospitality of friends and family, but her resources are dwindling as she continues to await the release of the funds associated with the disaster relief loan she was approved for. The kind people at Ron Hoover Marine and RV sales in Houston have been holding a motorhome for her until she receives her loan. But with no way of knowing if, or when, that will happen--and her desperate to move on with her life and no longer be homeless--her family has convinced her to reach out and ask for help from people who might be willing to help Kathy purchase a replacement motorhome.
