Kathy's Dream Kitchen Nightmare

It really sucks to be writing this description the week before Christmas. But here I am in one of the worst situations I have ever been in. I hired what I thought was a trust-worthy contractor Nick Giuffre from MDH Construction. They completed Phase 1 my office remodel and moved on to phase 2 my kitchen remodel. Everything was going great until my contractor asked for additional money after I paid him a $20,000 deposit. He asked for an additional $10,000 to purchase my cabinets, counter tops, hardware, and lighting fixtures to continue with the kitchen remodel. Seemed like a reasonable request so I wired it to him. However, he never purchased my cabinets, counter tops or anything else he stated he was going to purchase with that additional money. We have been going back and fourth since September 16th trying to get him to come to my home and complete the work. He sent an email the week of 12/14/2020 stating he will not be returning and I can finish the kitchen myself.  This has left me financially in a whole since he is keeping money specifically allocated to purchase what is needed to complete my kitchen. Since I need to use what money I do have left this leaves no room to cover the upcoming legal fees. Your help will truly give us new meaning of Christmas. It will make me whole again and help me complete what is suppose to be my dream kitchen. 

All money raised will be used for the following:
Kitchen Cabinets
Kitchen Granite Counter Tops
Kitchen Island
Lighting
Fixtures and other misc hardware like for the outlets
Trim work by the plumber and electrician
Re-work to repair all the faulty work
Wood Floor repair to repair the scratches in my hallway 
Lawyer Legal Fees - Retainer $2500 plus $225 an hour as they work out case. We are budgeting approximately $10,000 for the legal fees as we do not know how long the case will take to resolve
