My Mom's Surgery (face and neck)

 A quick trip to the dentist for my Mom resulted in the discovery of multiple tumors in her face and neck.

Please take a moment to read the latest status update below.

"After seeing the latest MRI images, surgery is schedule ASAP. They will be no waiting a month or two, or even a few weeks between procedures. ONLY 10 days to recover before the team of specialist go in AGAIN and remove the two remaining tumors in my neck. One area is deep into the cheek/head area where all my major facial nerves are (very difficult to maneuver around all the tiny nerves) This will require at least two excellent surgeons, including a plastic surgeon. The other growths are affecting the Thyroid area, throat and very near the lymph glands. The only other concerns are financial. No matter who, or where the surgeries are done, my insurance will only pay the BARE MINIMUM (for the “basic” procedure) which is a highly evasive- old school- with a high risk of permanent nerve damage, and includes no plastic surgery. WELL, that totally stinks!"

A little background on my Madre:

A few years ago she was a full time missionary in Thailand. The team she was assigned to was sent there to assist girls and women affected by sex trafficking. While in Thailand she slipped and broke her arm and was forced to return to the states after a botched surgery in Thailand. 

 Since then she has been working full time in San Diego as a clothing sales associate in attempt to pay off medical bills accrued from the surgery and months of therapy that followed. Unfortunately she no longer has full use of her wrist and hand. 

Due to the recent discovery of the tumors in her cheek and neck she will need additional surgery and will have to spend the Holidays recovering.
