Help Care for Kathy

Kathy Kowalski, a member of Marathoners In Training since 2011, discovered during her training runs in the fall/winter season with the 11:30’s that she was struggling with her breathing. After a physical with Dr. Bright and a referral to an oncologist, she was quickly diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, cancer of the bone marrow, and entered an aggressive treatment regime. Kathy has said many times if she wasn’t training for a marathon, she would’ve never addressed her shortness of breath, and in turn, would not have been diagnosed as quickly as she had been.

Kathy and Chris are both independent business owners. Any time away from work means no pay. As you can imagine, they need help to offset their expenses. Kathy has been fighting since February and was expected to be able to return to work after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, that has not been the case as she has needed to begin a new round of chemo.
