Dear Friends and Family,
As you may know our awesome Mom, Kathy Craig, got hit with the West Nile virus 3 weeks ago. It attacked her central nervous system, causing encephilits and leaving her with many symptoms we are still working on understanding. While in the ICU she was so physically weak, even pushing the nurse call button was a challenge. Since then, she has made great improvements both physically and cognitively. She is now feeding herself, brushing her teeth and can move her arms above her head. Her new goals include being able to stand up and walk on her own.
She is out of the hospital and is currently receiving limited care at a rehab center. Unfortunately the amount of care insurance will cover is not enough.
Our hope with this GoFundMe is to help her get the care she needs to return to normal activities on her own - which will include extensive and long term rehab, daily Physical Therapy, treatments and specialist doctor visits. With the proper care, we are confident Kathy will be back to enjoying life.
Kathy is a fighter! We are beginning to understand that this recovery will be a long road and could take months or longer, but we are confident she can do it and regain her full health!
