Kathy Bess

As many of you know, Kathy had breast cancer several years ago.  Kathy bounced back after surgery pretty well, but in the Fall of 2014, she found out that the cancer had spread to her brain.  Once again, Kathy bounced back after surgery.  Even the surgeons were impressed.  Unfortunately, the cancer finally won out, and Kathy passed away on Monday morning, June 20.  

Kathy's mother, Lena, was with Kathy until the end.  And many other family members and friends were able to visit Kathy in Covington over the past few months.

Kathy was a special person.  Her intelligence, curiousity and boundless optimism will stand as a model for us all.  May her memory be a blessing.

Kathy's family and friends have asked me to create this GoFundMe campaign to help defray Kathy's medical and funeral expenses.  As you can imagine, the bills kept piling up when Kathy could no longer work.  We are hoping to raise at least $10,000, but, of course, we will graciously accept more.
