On April 2nd, our Mother Kathy was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, stage 4. The devastating six letter word that no family ever wants to hear! In just an unbelievable 8 weeks, her health has deteriorated rapidly.
Our Father Jerry who is a proud military navy veteran and prostate cancer survivor, is suffering severely from Parkinson disease and chronic nerve damage to his legs. Our father is holding on steadfast because of his belief that a miracle will happen for our mom, the love of his life. Unfortunately, between demanding hospital costs, oncologists, specialist physicians, laboratory demands, hospital visits, chemo treatments, and medication for both of them, they have depleted their savings and are having a difficult time coping with ongoing necessary medical treatment costs, and are now in jeopardy of losing their home.
We have created this page in an effort to help our parents - they have bare minimum health coverage. The costs of our mother’s treatment – directly for cancer alone, as well as the monthly expenses have already taken their toll. Any help you can contribute is sincerely appreciated and we are immeasurably grateful.
Our Mother was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. She took immense pride in being head Staff Supervisor, taking care of her patients, training her fellow nurses. She is simply a loving, caring person and truly loves being a nurse, it is part of her makeup. Often working the all-night shift positions and volunteering for overtime, or where duty needed her. She has been a true medical advocate for her patients and families. Providing strength in her patients’ time of need and going beyond the call of duty to bring a smile to their faces and strengthen them through the healing process. She is just an amazing person, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, sister, and friend. She has a fight ahead of her. We are hoping that all of you out there, will join the fight with us. Our Mother the nurse is now the patient. The fight begins now.
