Hi friends, family and visitors--
Kathy Caldwell has been fighting her battle for over eight years since she was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009. Her life took a complete and unexpected turn the day she suffered from an unexplainable seizure. Our worst fears were soon confirmed. Her treatment started immediately in hopes of kicking cancer's butt and moving forward with life.
Since then, Kathy has endured more than anyone should ever have to go through--countless surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and debilitating treatments. The cancer has robbed her body, but never her bravery or fight. Over the years, there have been many ups and downs of the treatment process-- from the joy and brief moment of relief of a "clear scan" to the sadness of seeing the longterm toll treatment has had on Kathy.
We're heartbroken to learn that doctors are now saying Kathy's days Earth-side are numbered.
Over the years, Kathy's husband, Mark, has been her constant caretaker. They have given up their jobs, home, and so much more. The stress of losing the love of his life has been unbearable for Mark, but not to mention the worry and uncertainty of what's ahead financially. As you know, healthcare bills for chronic or terminal illnesses skyrocket in a second, and the cost of treatment over eight years is not something the family can recover from alone. I'm here today because I'm hoping we can do anything possible to alleviate the burden for Kathy, Mark and family in the days and weeks to come.
