The Adams’ Fund - Lilac Fire Relief

On December 7, 2017, at 11:15 a.m., a fire started at Old Hwy 395 at Dulin Road in Bonsall, California. At around 1:14 p.m., Cal Fire's website showed the "Lilac Fire" at only ten acres, but moving at a dangerous rate of spread. In the hours that followed, the Santa Ana winds fueled a devastating and unpredictable fire, with mandatory evacuations extending inland to Oceanside, California. Kathryn, her family, her beloved horse and other pets were directly in the fire's path.
The fire completely destroyed Kathryn's family home and all of her memories and belongings were lost. Kathryn, her sister and her mother barely made it out alive. While material items can be replaced, Kathryn's beloved horse cannot be.
The pictures from the morning after show the devastation this fire has already caused Kathryn and her family.
If you are lucky enough to know or be a friend to Kathryn, you know that she would give everything she had, time or money, to help a family, friend or animal in need. Now she needs our help. Please donate anything you can to help Kathryn and her family in this trying time. All funds will go directly to the family.

We also want to express our gratitude to the California firefighters! They have been doing a tremendous job!
The organizers include my sister (Stephanie Talavera), who is currently in Orange County, California and myself (Christine Talavera) currently located in Dallas, Texas. As to our connection to Kathryn, we grew up off Sleeping Indian Rd., located right outside of the fire perimeter. Our mother was evacuated and we worked to evacuate our horses this morning to Camp Pendleton. Kathryn is my best friend and my older sister also considers her a member of the family. As stated above, we will withdraw and transfer the funds directly to Kathryn, to be spent as she and her family choose.
