<div>für ihr Leben mitzugeben. Mein Beruf verlangt mir aber auch jeden einzelnen Tag sehr viel ab – auch körperlich. Und genau das wird zunehmend schwieriger, denn ich trage etwas mit mir, das man mir nicht ansieht:

<div>Ich war erst 22 Jahre alt, in einem ganz normalen Leben, mit ganz normalen Träumen. Dann kam MS. Plötzlich. Aus dem Nichts.
</div>

</div>
<div>Mit 22 musste ich zusehen, wie mein bisher normales Leben auseinanderfiel. Von diesem Moment gab es nur noch Angst: Rollstuhl- ein Bild, das sich einbrennt. Pflegebedürftigkeit,
</div>
<div>Berufsunfähigkeit, der Verlust einer Fähigkeit nach der anderen. Ein zuvor gesunder Körper, der sich ohne erkennbaren Grund selbst zerstört.

<div>Würde ich noch studieren können?
</div>
<div>Arbeiten?
</div>
<div>Selbstständig leben?
</div>
<div>Einen Partner finden?
</div>
<div>Kinder haben?

<div><strong><em>MS ist grausam – sie nimmt einem alles.</em></strong>

<div>In den Jahren nach meiner Diagnose erlitt ich zahlreiche Schübe. Jeder einzelne war eine schmerzhafte Erinnerung daran, dass MS jederzeit und ohne Vorwarnung alles nehmen kann.
</div>

</div>
<div>Schmerzen.
</div>
<div>Sehstörungen.
</div>
<div>Zeitweise vollständige Erblindung auf einem Auge.
</div>
<div>Schwierigkeiten beim Gehen.
</div>
<div>Starker Schwindel.
</div>
<div>Gefühlsverlust in Händen und Beinen.
</div>
<div>Unerträgliche, dauerhafte Schmerzen.
</div>
<div>Jeder Schub reißt mich aus meinem Leben heraus.
</div>
<div>Die Angst ist immer da, wie ein Damoklesschwer, das über mir schwebt.
</div>
<div>Dieses Jahr war besonders schwer. Ich hatte mehrere Schübe. Der letzte, im Oktober, hat meine Gehfähigkeit stark eingeschränkt. Plötzlich wurde Gehen – etwas, das alle um mich herum scheinbar ganz selbstverständlich tun, unfassbar schwierig. Jeden einzelnen Tag werde ich daran erinnert, dass etwas so „Einfaches“ für mich nicht einfach ist.

<div><strong><em>Warum ich um eure Hilfe bitte</em></strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Es gibt eine Behandlung, die Hoffnung gibt: HSCT (Hämatopoetische
</div>
<div>Stammzelltransplantation). HSCT ist eine intensive Therapie, die darauf abzielt, die MS zu stoppen, indem das Immunsystem – der Teil meines Körpers, der mein eigenes Nervensystem angreift – „zurückgesetzt“ wird. Bei vielen Patienten konnte durch HSCT das Fortschreiten der Krankheit zum Stillstand gebracht werden.

<div><strong>Diese Behandlung wird jedoch nicht von der öffentlichen Krankenversicherung übernommen</strong> und muss privat bezahlt werden. Die Kosten übersteigen bei Weitem meine finanziellen Möglichkeiten.

<div>My job demands a lot from me every single day, including physically. And that is becoming increasingly difficult, because there is something about me that you cannot see:

<div>Then MS struck. Suddenly. Without warning.

<div>At 22, I watched my once-normal life fall apart. From that moment on, my thoughts were consumed by fear: a wheelchair, becoming dependent on care, losing my job, losing one ability after another. A previously healthy body slowly destroying itself for no apparent reason.

<div>Would I still be able to study?
</div>
<div>Work?
</div>
<div>Live independently?
</div>
<div>Find a partner?
</div>
<div>Have children?

<div>MS is cruel — it takes everything.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the years after my diagnosis, I suffered numerous relapses. Each one was a painful reminder that MS can take everything, anytime, anywhere, without warning.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Pain.
</div>
<div>Visual disturbances.
</div>
<div>Temporary complete blindness in one eye.
</div>
<div>Difficulty walking.
</div>
<div>Severe dizziness.
</div>
<div>Losing sensation in my hands and legs.
</div>
<div>Relentless pain.
</div>

</div>
<div>Every relapse tore me out of my life — and it still does. The fear is always there, like a sleeping monster, waiting to attack.
</div>

</div>
<div>This year has been especially hard. I have had multiple relapses. My most recent one, in October, drastically reduced my ability to walk. Suddenly, walking — something everyone around me does without thinking — became a daily struggle. Every single day, I am reminded that something so “simple” is not simple at all.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Why I am asking for your help</em></strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>There is a treatment that offers hope: <strong>HSCT (Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation)</strong>.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>HSCT is an intensive therapy that aims to stop MS by “resetting” the immune system — the part of my body that is attacking my own nervous system. For many patients, HSCT has been shown to significantly slow down or even halt disease progression.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, this treatment is <strong>not covered by public healthcare in my country</strong> and must be paid for privately. The costs are overwhelming and far beyond what I can manage on my own.
</div>

<div>I am not asking for a cure.
</div>
