Kathi Archer (Missionary in Guatemala)

Hi, Kathi is a missionary in Guatemala and has been serving in that country for 39 years. Recently her vehicle needed repair that would of cost beyond what it was worth, so she is need of a new vehicle. Below is the message I received from Kathi about her need:

Hi! My name is Kathi Archer and I have been serving with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Guatemala for 39 years. Currently, I work with the Rabinal Achí people, one of the 22 Mayan indigenous people groups in Guatemala. We are working with kids’ bible clubs, women’s ministries and youth ministries. My passion is to see the Maya Achí women and girls with heads held high, knowing who they are in Christ, and their potential to be agents of real transformation in their families and communities.

Recently my vehicle had major problems that would have been more costly to fix than the vehicle was worth, so I had to sell it for the little I could get out of it. I have a need for a good, used SUV that will allow me to safely travel to purchase food and medicine, make trips to the capital city and back for meetings, medical appointments, picking people up at the airport, etc. I estimate that I will need $18,000 to purchase a reliable vehicle of the type that I need.

I am praying for the funds to purchase another vehicle within the next month or two. Our ministry does not own a vehicle, so mine is the only one available for both ministry and personal needs. Currently I must look for someone to lend me a vehicle each time I need to use one, and many times there is none available. Please join me in prayer for this need to be met. - Kathi
