If you have a moment, we would like to tell you about a friend, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a co-worker who is starting the fight of her life against breast cancer. She and her family need our help.
Our colleague and friend Katherine Siffrin, is a strong intelligent woman who is devoted to her family, her friends and her job. Back in November of 2017, during a routine mammogram a lump was found. The subsequent biopsy indicated that it was cancerous, changing Katherine’s life forever.
Since finding out in November that she had breast cancer, Katherine underwent a procedure to remove the cancerous lump. In the days following she received unwelcomed news from the doctor’s office.There was much more disease than the doctors expected, and it had spread beyond the initial location. This news was devastating to Katherine and her family.
The team of doctors who are working on Katherine’s case are strategizing and will be recommending a new course of action. There will be additional surgeries and there will be more treatments than initially planned.
As do most cancer patients, Katherine has a long road ahead of her and will need all the love and support she can get. The Katherine we all know and love is a strong-willed fighter; and we have no doubt she will beat this. A little help from her family, friends and co-workers will go a long way in helping Katherine in her recovery. We are asking for you to donate as much as you can to help Katherine and her family manage what is sure to be a mountain of medical bills. If Katherine can worry just a little bit less about the financial side of this long road she’s on, she will be able to concentrate more on the important things, like recovering.
