Volunteer Trip to Cambodia

Donation protected
Help me prevent human trafficking in Cambodia.

In February 2015 I will travel to Cambodia to work with girls who are at-risk for being trafficked or sexually exploited. I will be in Rapha Houses' Freedom Salon + Training Center, where each girl who trains is offered a safe place to live, clothing and food, and taught a skill that she can use to pursue a future of freedom: hairstyling.

I will spend two weeks in Cambodia training and getting to know these severely at-risk girls, offering all of the education, support, and advice I can. Hairstyling is a growing, viable trade in Cambodia and being able to give girls this education can mean saving their lives. I love and support this program because 100% of all donations go to the girls, there are no paid employees in the US or Cambodia. I am excited to witness firsthand how people's generous donations have helped to build this program.

There are currently more people in slavery at this moment in time than ever in history. This is especially true in southeast Asia. Human trafficking and forced prostitution is widespread and has become a large draw for tourists from all over the world who seek young girls. Girls who are trafficked are often tricked, coerced, or sold into prostitution. They are then taken away from their families and often brought to other countries where they cannot escape.

The Rapha House Freedom Salon + Training Center is set out to change these odds. They believe that human trafficking can be prevented, and that every child has worth.

I am raising funds for my trip in February 2015, 100% of the collected donations will go toward the initial trip cost plus other travel associated costs. Anything raised above the minimum amount will go to the girls Rapha House supports. Please watch the quick video of the Freedom Salon + Training Center I posted above which shows where I will be teaching and the people your donation will help to aid.

Rapha Houses' Freedom Stylist program is non-profit. All people involved are volunteers and all donations to the program go directly to the Salon + Training center and to support the girls who learn and live there. Along with the Freedom Salon, Rapha House has a number of Safe Houses for girls that have been rescued from trafficking across southeast Asia, and is currently expanding to other parts of the world.
