Brad Kates was a kind, caring and compassionate soul who touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Never was there a dull moment when he was around, he always made sure to keep a smile on the faces of people around him everywhere he went. He had so much love to give and he went out of his way to help, and be kind to family, friends and even perfect strangers

In late 2013 Brad was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer. Everyone who knew him was devastated, but we held out hope that he would be able to fight the cancer and win. Brad lived his last year living life to the fullest, as always, marching to the beat of his own drum. But two tragedy struck in November 2014.

Brad was hospitalized and we learned that the cancer had started to spread. Then his son Brad Jr. died unexpectedly, leaving behind a beautiful daughter whom he loved. Brad Jr's passing left his family shocked and emotionally broken. Even worse was the fact that they did not have money to cover the $7,000 in funeral costs, leaving Brad Sr. in a bad financial situation while fighting cancer.

Brad Sr. passed away on January 31st 2015 in the arms of his loving wife with his surviving son by his side. The family is now faced with additional costs to cover Brad Sr.'s funeral services. At this point the family owes $6,000 to the funeral home and is on a payment plan while dealing with the loss of two loved ones. It would be a blessing to help them financially during this tragedy. I am starting this site to help pay for the funeral costs for both Brad Sr. and Brad Jr. so that the family can start putting their life back together without the added stress of financial hardship. Every little bit helps.
