This summer I will be part of an amazing team taking on something truly special:
The Counternavig8 GB ‘Row Against the Flow’ expedition – eight people rowing 2,000 miles non-stop around mainland Britain, counter-clockwise! It’s never been done this way before, so this will be a ‘first’ in the history of rowing. And if that’s not enough, during the row, we will also be collecting data and contributing to important research of our coastal water environment.
But we’re also doing it to support causes close to our hearts and I will also be aiming to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Last year, my husband fought prostate cancer bravely, and that’s why I’m so passionate about raising funds for this cause. It is the most common cause of cancer for men and early detection and treatment is a lifesaver! In the UK, 1 in 8 men will get Prostate Cancer in their lifetime, and I want to make sure others get the support they need, just like he did.
I need to raise about £10,000 to cover the cost of the row, and associated training and equipment. I intend to self-fund as much of this where I can, but any generosity you can show me helping me achieve this target would be much appreciated.
Many thanks for your very kind and generous support!
Warm regards
Kate
