My sister, Kate, has been rediagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma. It is a soft tissue cancer that is extremely rare, aggressive, and effects 6 out of a million people annually.
We aren't sure on a life expectancy time line, nor does Kate want to know, but she is fighting her hardest and remaining positive in this battle, as she undergoes chemo for the next 6 months.
The best aspects about Kate are her upbeat spirit, love for everyone, and joy and laughter she brings to each individual she interacts with. When you meet Kate, you leave feeling like you're family because her soul radiates an inner beauty that's hard to find these days. She's truly one of a kind and deserves the world.
To give her that, I'd love Kate to have the ability to travel and adventure to anywhere her heart yearns with the time she has left.
In 2016, I was able to embark with Kate on a cross country road trip for 3 months. It was some of the most fun we had in our lives, and I would be overjoyed to be able to give her that amount of excitement again. For Kate to jam out to GRiZ at Red Rocks Ampitheater, catch the sunset on the Oregon coast, eat the best foods, just whatever makes Kate feel on top of the world.
Her health does limit the extensiveness of her travels, due to being very tired from chemo every 2 weeks, but fulfilling any of her hopes and dreams would mean everything to her. To fulfill her bucket list with no limitations and subside never ending medical bills. Just making her journey a little less stressful.
