BeyondSports Costa Rica Soccer Trip

My name is Kate Mackin, I am a rising Junior at Bainbridge High School, and play soccer for PacNW Soccer Club, near Seattle.
This summer, I have been invited to join a team of highschool players who will travel to Costa Rica to train with Costa Rican National Team coaches, play against the Costa Rican Youth Development Team, and host soccer camps for local youth in this once-in-a-lifetime, cross-cultural competition experience!
As a part of the BeyondSports delegation, we will also travel throughout Costa Rica. Highlights of our trip include going zip-lining through the rainforest, visiting the beautiful city of La Fortuna and its Volcano Arenal, as well as seeing toucans, monkeys, and sloths in Costa Rica's biological preserve!
I have never been out of the country, and being able to join a group of high school teammates on this incredible trip will be a life-changing opportunity to bond with teammates in another country via the international language of soccer.
We depart the U.S. on July 25th, and return August 3rd, so my personal fundraising efforts are in full-swing. I have committed my own savings, and am aiming to raise $1950 to fund the balance of my trip by July 24th.
I am planning to borrow a GoPro and take some incredible videos of my experience - for those of you who contribute to my funding, I plan to create and share a video postcard of my experience once I return.
Your support will mean so much to me. I know this trip will open the door to the world in a way that I haven't yet experienced, and influence my goals as I look ahead to college and beyond.
