Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
my name is Kate Ngene, I am a believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.
I am determined to follow God's calling upon my life to serve HIM in full time ministry and dedicate the life He has given me for the purpose He chose.
The ministry I have on my heart is being a Christian Counselor with emphesise on women and children that are/were victims of sexual exploitation, domestic violence or trauma of any other kind.
Christian Counselors are quite rare here in Germany and by far not as popular as in the United States or other parts of the world. My goal is to bring back the Gospel of hope to the land of Martin Luther and contributing my part by being a counselor pointing people to the only true healing for their pain.
A little about me :
I was born 35 years ago in Cologne Germany, as the only daughter of a catholic mum and a jewish dad. My parents didn't practise their faith and so I was raised without God or any knowledge about God.
When I was 26 years old I had survived an abusive childhood, 7 years domestic violence in my marriage, the divorce of the same marriage and years of depression and suicidal thoughts. The only good thing in my life at that time seemed to be my full time job with the government. Until God placed my christian work collegue in my life -Sandra. Sandra's life was her testimony and I began to engage with the God she worshiped. Because of her courage, persistence and most of all patience I am a believer today.
Looking back my life has turned 180 degrees and God filled that void in me and healed my pain. I came to understand that my past is my testimony and a chance to pour forth and let another woman benefit, the way i benefited from Sandra's story.
So I resigned from my safe, well paid full time job with the government to go back to school full time, at the age of 30 years old. 3 years later I graduated highschool with an 'A'-average, believe me the glory is only God's !!!!
After years of prayer for direction Moody Bible Institute, Chicago continued coming up as the next step. So I applied and with a 25% chance of admittance to campus, I got admitted this spring for fall semester 2016 on campus in Chicago,IL. , Prais God !!!
I came a long way and God always helped me to overcome the obstacles in my way, by placing people in my life and strengthening my faith.
Today I am reaching out to YOU to be part of breaking down the obstacles.
Moody Bible Institue offers tuition free enrollment for all international students, the cost that I need to cover for the 1st semester refer to room and board as well as books, health insurance and miscellaneous fees.
In order to start my studies August 13th 2016,
I need to provide 7612 $ for the 1st semester.I need to have raised the money latest by August 1st, 2016. Without the money I will not be able to study!
There are scholarships and I applied for them but most are not for International students. I will be able to work on campus and also be able to enrole in a payment plan as from the 2nd semester.
My obstacle is to get started and to make it to Chicago on time! all I want and all I have worked for is to get the education I need to serve in fulltime ministry.
I have already put a lot of effort ,strenght and financial risk into getting the education needed to attend college because I am truely serious about serving. I am desperately ready to serve and continue the path that leads to helping and ministering to women of any age.
I am fully aware that all of you worked hard for your money and that there are many people on her asking you to donate ! But I insure you I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't in need.
I hope I was able to let you see a little bit of who I amand that I truly love God and I'm pursuing college to serve Him in the way I believe He has called me to.
From a secular perspective this is a crazy mess, I'm placing myself in,and not only financially. I'm leaving the people I love, my friends over here, my job, my home,
my country, my language, my comfort zone, for the unknown, and an uncertain future in so many ways.
The eyes of the Spirit see sacrifice but also hope, courage, obedience, service and most of all faith.
Iam doing this because I love God and I am thankful and I wanna give back by pouring forth to those that are in need of Jesus and the message of hope and salvation. I want to minister to those that are not acceptable to society as the prostitutes, the drug addicts, the sick, or the silent and ignored abuse behind so many closed doors-every day thousands of women and children are exposed to domestic violence and victimization.
I am coming from a childhood of violence and abuse and I see the need to break the vicious circle for my fellow women and the children that are our future.
This also applies to my sisters in Christ that might be going through shame or isolation in their relationships or marriage, due to abuse and violence.
I know that all I went through in my life is my testimony and my authentic tool to reach out to those that feel can never be understood or helped. If God can do it for me HE can do surely it for them and in them as well !!!!!
I believe we do not have to travel as far as Africa or Asia to see and witness suffering, it is right in our faces on a daily basis and sometimes we look away because we feel not capeable of helping or dealing with it...what impact could we have if we obeyed that still small voice telling us of courage and selflessness ?!.... I do not want to look away ! I want to help and let Jesus do what He died for on the cross, I want to pour forth that life of hope and forgiveness, that so desperately desired new beginning, and give Him glory.
