Kate Cahill's Cancer Battle

On Friday, August 5, 2022, Kate was diagnosed with breast cancer that had invaded her lymph nodes. Shortly after the diagnosis, she and John learned that the cancer had already reached her liver and spine. True to Kate’s fighting spirit, she received her first chemotherapy treatment on Monday the 8th at the Ohio State University.

Shortly after Kate's first chemo treatment, she lost consciousness and was moved to the ICU. Several issues began compounding the situation, including internal abdominal bleeding and decreased kidney function.

Since this journey began, John and Kate have been overwhelmed with love from their family and friends. They’ve been especially grateful that their children Lucy (4 1/2 years) and Jack (10 months) have been able to maintain their normal routines so far, but there will undoubtedly be challenges for many months ahead. As everyone offers their continued help, it would be best to have a designated place for all of Kate’s supporters to assist. This will minimize any potential impact on Lucy and Jack and ensure that Kate will have the best possible care.
