Frosted Goddess: Steampunk Macarons on Wheels

It all started with planning a hotel room party at a wizarding convention...

So we got invited to this wizarding convention in Madison, Wisconsin around the first of August. Since we're a bit grown up for Harry Potter, we decided to do a magical university frat type party based on Brakebills from the book and TV series named The Magicians. We are huge fans of the show and the books so it was a no brainer for us. We had to make 'little cakes' to please not only the gods but our attendees of the party. It was a semi-sophisticated college dorm like party where I made the food and then we had various drink containers featuring the Hogwarts houses. There were literally 4 giant mason jar like containers with drinks corresponding to the house colors; red, yellow, green and blue. When people asked what flavors they were, everyone had the same answer; red flavor, yellow flavor, green flavor and blue flavor. It's college, you get what you get at a dorm party. To be honest, I think that 2 of them had rum and some colored soda and the other 2 had vodka and some colored soda or punch mix. They pretty much tasted their colors but no one complained.

The party was a huge success. The macarons were a huge success. The punch was....well it did it's job.

The tiny cakes became French macarons. A friend, who's also a chef, came over to 'help' me make macarons. That was a fiasco but it taught me what not to do. After 2 days and several batches of macarons, I finally made a batch that looked like they were supposed to. They were beautiful. I wrote down each step that worked and put it in a book for safe keeping. I made another batch just to be sure that it worked again, and again I had success. I then went on to make 2 more batches that were just as pretty as the first successful batch. I now have a working macaron recipe that I guard in my 'magic' book.

I have several testimonials from people who have tried them. Even my ex ate 3 of them (he would have eaten more but I only gave him 3) and he doesn't like sweets. These are delectable and truly food fit for the gods. That's how I came up with the name Frosted Goddess.

I have learned how to make different flavors too. These gluten free, organic delights are irresistible.

So this summer I discovered that I could make French macarons. After several attempts, and writing down my steps, I now have a proven recipe where I can make these macarons over and over again with the same perfect results. These results are kept secret in my Nomnomicron, the delicious book of magical recipes and drinks.

Everyone who has tried them loves them and wants to buy them from me. However I need  your help.

I know that I can make this work because I have a proven recipe that works and people who believe in me. It is my dream to continue working on our magazine and making macarons. I feel that the macarons will help fund the magazine and provide a good income for my family.

At this point, we want to get a 'food trailer' so we can make them onsite wherever we may be so that they are always fresh, and we can also travel to other conventions, fairs and food markets in order to sell our delicious wares. This food trailer would be a tiny bakery on wheels and would look very steampunk with working gears on the outside for cranking out the macarons.

The kitchen would be very much like this with the exception of a refrigerator to the far left and an additional industrial oven beside the range.  This would be on the front end of the trailer. There will be a dedicated window for cookie distribution to the far right next to the industrial dishwasher.

To give you an 'idea' of what we want to build to take on the road, please watch this video. Although not exactly what I want, it's pretty darn close.

Obviously, this sink isn't going to work for my needs. The kitchen above this video is much closer to what I want and need.

Since I have had several hernia surgeries, bad knees, hips, and a heart condition, my ability to work for someone else has been diminished if not entirely gone.  So I ask for your help in making this a successful venture. I will make macarons for all who donate.  I need you to want at least 7 macarons because that's how my packaging is set up.

All proceeds go to making this dream a reality. I need a better kitchen for sure. My 2 bedroom apartment kitchen just isn't large enough to really do any decent production of macarons.

I have several flavors I am working on including, Absinthe, Lavender, Earl Grey, Red Velvet, Chocolate, Rose, Violet, Lemon, Coffee, Root Beer, Caramel, Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon Roll, Black Cat, and more.

Trust me, you're gonna love these cookies. They are the food of the gods.
