Kartulakila Masjid in Tanzania

Kartulakila is a large village in Central Tanzania, Kilombero District (close to Udzungwa Forest). It has a unique Muslim community who work hard to create an Islamic way of life. They are very active in travelling to other parts of Tanzania to give Dawah. At times people from other parts of Tanzania also come here to spend time and give promote Islamic teachings. 



Me and my wife have spent the last 5 months travelling across Africa, by car from London. We have seen many Muslim villages, towns, tribes and peoples, each with their own individual personality. But this community has touched us because of thier vigour and motivation. 



Despite their apparent poverty these people are happy and extremely positive. They have been collecting money for a long time to build a proper Masjid. Infact they have bought the land to build it on and also bought a parcel of land where a widow lives. They are in the process of building her house elsewhere so she can relocate and the land can be used for a Wudu/Toilet area. 



Me and my wife have made a very difficult choice to build this Masjid during the chaos of the Crona Virus situation. We will InshAllah stay here until it is done and make almost all purchases ourselves. 

So this fundraiser is for building a Masjid (including roofing, windows, doors, carpets/rugs, pathways, garden and if the funds allow, a Minerate. Included is all electrics, Plumbing and other associated work. 

We keep a detailed account of all funds received and spent, this can be shared with anyone who wishes to see it. It is your and the Kirtulakila community right that we have to strictly discharge. 

I request that any charity sent covers all the charges to withdraw the money. I am using ATM’s to withdraw the money and this comes with a charge of around 5%; gofundme also has a 2.9% charge, so please bear this in mind.
