Karl Camenzind is from a mountain community in central Switzerland. He was born into a family of hoteliers, great cooks, and a butcher, so he was destined to have a life in the food industry. Ever since childhood, Karl’s dream was to cook refined and inspired cuisine. He started his career in Europe, but came to America in 1962. While working as an executive chef, Karl met his wife Susie. They married in 1977, and moved to Richmond, Texas. Karl’s restaurant has been a favorite of the Fort Bend community for over 25 years, and he was given several awards for the quality of his food and service. In addition, thousands of customers over the years have raved about Karl’s food and hospitality, which helped earn him earn a high ranking in the Zagat survey.
Karl’s menu is an eclectic blend of American, German, Swiss and other European cuisines. Karl creates every dish from his extensive repertoire of recipes from over fifty years of experience. His weiner schnitzel is amazing, and his apple strudel is well worth going off your diet!
My family and I have been coming to Karl’s for many years and love his food. My father-in-law is from Austria, and he tells me that it is as authentic as it gets.
