In the month of October, we come together to raise awareness about breast cancer, a time to honor the resilient warriors who bear the badge of this formidable disease, participate in fundraisers, and hopefully take the time to complete a self-exam. This October marked the beginning of Karlei’s own journey to becoming a breast cancer warrior.

Although Karlei’s doctors are optimistic and believe the cancer will respond well to chemo, she will need to begin treatment immediately. We know that the road ahead won’t be without its challenges. As she embarks on this difficult journey, she will need our support more than ever. The days to come will be tough, both physically and emotionally, not only for Karlei but also for her loving husband, Parker, and their two beautiful daughters, Lula and Novi. It's during these moments of trial that the support of friends and family becomes a lifeline for this sweet and loving family.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time the Ayers family has been forced to confront the burden of cancer. In November 2020, Kareli’s husband, Parker, fought a courageous battle against aggressive Burkitt Lymphoma. You can read more about Parker’s story here.
