Hi everyone!
As you all know, I just had unexpected surgery this past Thursday 11/16. We have been trying to order Karleigh a wheelchair for about 4 months now. Since it is a custom wheelchair we have to order it piece by piece. I just got word yesterday that insurance has denied a lot of the pieces. This is the third appeal and their final decision. The biggest impact it has had on us was with the denial it raised my out of pocket from about $970 to $2749.07. I've had to put my pride away and finally admit that I need help. With the end of the insurance year coming, I have to get her wheelchair ordered before the new year. Otherwise, I have to pay another deductible and my cost will be much more. The wheelchair vendor requires half of the payment now and half at delivery. With me being out and only receiving 60% of my pay I simply can't do it alone.
