Karla Stroeing's Support Fund

I wanted to reach out to you on behalf of a dear friend of mine, Karla Stroeing. For those of you who may not know Karla, we met her and her husband Bill in 2008. We joined a Community Group at the same time they did. We spent all of our time in Seattle in a Community Group with them and got to witness God transform their lives as they grew and matured in their faith. God has blessed us immensely through our friendship with Bill and Karla.
Bill and Karla have been richly impacted by the gospel. It shows by how they live their life! They are passionate about being ambassadors for Christ, sharing his love and his gospel with others in their constant and selfless acts of service to those in their lives.
Not long after we met them, Karla left her small business to work full time in the church offices to provide administrative support. She worked for years without any compensation! When Sound City launched, we were able to offer Karla a small amount of compensation, but it was still not much. Karla never complained. She was thrilled to serve the body of Christ by serving the pastors and staff through her administrative support. She has also served for years by helping coordinate and lead the financial stewards among other roles she's taken on to serve the church family. Whether or not you know Karla, if you've ever been to Sound City Bible Church you have been blessed by her as she has poured herself into serving the church, joyfully and faithfully, and mostly behind the scenes.
In 2017, we learned that Karla had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She has tumors in her lungs and brain. She has been through several rounds of treatment. Though there were some signs of improvement early on, currently the tumors are growing both in size and number.
Karla’s faith through all of this has been unwavering and exemplary. She has been rejoicing throughout stating that God will either heal her body, or he will be healing her completely as he welcomes her home.
Bill and Karla would literally give everything they have to help and serve others. While they take great joy in serving others, they hate to ask for help. So it was only after a fair bit of prodding that they finally shared with me that they have exhausted their emergency funds covering medical bills. They have about $7,000 they still owe, with more medical bills coming due.
That financial burden is a huge burden for any one person to carry, but it would be easily covered with small contributions from many caring brothers and sisters across the Church family.
