Kari's "Take Down" Cancer Fund

On June 5th, 2017, at the young age of 36, Kari Lozenski was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer with bony metastases. This meaning her breast cancer has spread to her bones.
Kari's breast cancer is stage IV, grade 2/3 invasive ductal carcinoma of the left breast. She has lesions on her back at level T11, a lesion on her 7th rib, and disease in her pelvis and femurs.
The lesion on Kari's back caused 2 compression fractures at levels L2 and L4. The fractures in her back are causing her a lot of pain. The size and location of the back lesion required emergent radiation due to the risk of paralysis. Kari completed 5 rounds of radiation on her back with the last being done on June 15th.
In the weeks to come Kari will be undergoing multiple tests including labs, MRI's, CT scans, an echocardiogram, and a PET scan. Once all of her tests are complete Kari will weigh her chemotherapy options and begin chemotherapy.
The Aberdeen Youth Wrestling Club (AYWC) has set up this fund to help Kari get through the long journey she has ahead of her. Kari's son, Porter, is a member of the AYWC. Kari is not only a huge supporter of AYWC but of the entire Aberdeen community. Her children are also involved with soccer, BMX, baseball, basketball and gymnastics.
