Let’s Show Katya We Care


Our beloved friend and coworker Katya has been stricken with ALS, a terrible progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Katya’s symptoms began appearing in her third trimester and the devastating diagnosis came two months after the birth of her beautiful daughter Ariana. Her symptoms have rapidly progressed; robbing her of the opportunity to be a mother.

Despite feeling incredibly sick, weak, short of breath and fatigued she is determined to push herself and watch her little girl grow up. Her breathing ability is severely compromised rendering her to use a bipap machine 24/7; her mobility and ability to lift things are lost, making it difficult to spend quality time with her daughter.

Money is tight as treatments for this devastating disease are expensive. Her husband takes extra shifts all the time to try and make ends meet and then pulls double duty taking care of Katya and baby. Katya is using every ounce of her strength to fight ALS so that she can watch her daughter grow. Katya was hesitant to allow me to set up this campaign as she doesn’t want to be a burden but is willing to accept any assistance if it means Ariana will have her mommy.
