Karina - Lyme Treatment in Germany

After fifteen years of hiding symptoms of extreme fatigue, seizures, migraines, air hunger, fibromyalgia, neurological difficulties, extremely low blood pressure and losing the ability to walk or stand for periods of time, I was diagnosed by Lyme Literate Doctors with Lyme’s Disease with a co-infection of Babesia and Epstein Barr virus.
The last year has had many ups and downs. California has given me supportive, knowledgeable doctors as well as the finances to be able to be out of work for nearly a year. For months I had shown real progress, even to the point of being able to begin to be physically active again. I was beginning to make plans to return to work. Sadly, as happens with this disease, the Lyme started peeking its head back out and the need came for me to go back onto antibiotics. As expected, Lyme has stopped responding well to the antibiotics in pill form. My previous symptoms have started to resurface and in force.
Fatefully, nearly as soon as my symptoms started to resurface a fellow Lymie shared that she was going for Hyperthermia treatment in Bad Aibling, Germany at St. George Hospital. Over the last 17 years they have seen great success with the procedure and detox protocol. I have provided links below if you would like to read further, but the gist is that Hyperthermia paired with IV antibiotics and the clinic’s detox protocol have been proven to eradicate the Lyme bacteria and co-infectors. Bacteria cannot survive high temperatures (105-107F) so the body is slowly brought to this temperature and held there for up to 3 hours while the patient is on an antibiotics IV. During this time the heat forces the bacteria out of hiding and works with the antibiotics to kill the nasty bugs. After just one treatment, the Lyme’s bacterium can no longer be detected in the body. It is likely that the Babesia bacteria will also be killed which will give my body the ability to bring Esptein Barr under control.
St. George Hospital in Germany is the only place offering inpatient Hyperthermia paired with antibiotic treatment for Lyme’s patients. In America this treatment is considered ‘experimental’ and not covered by health insurance. I have not been able to find any establishments offering to treat Lyme’s patients in this manner.
If I receive this treatment, it is extremely like that within 3 months, I would be able to go back to work and being to return to my outgoing, active, feisty self. The likelihood of a relapse is slim with this procedure while with traditional treatments relapse is expected.
I fully intend to stay connected with Lyme sufferers and do what I can to make other people’s journey easier.
