Kari’s Unexpected Cancer Journey

Hello everyone-
These last couple weeks have been rough on everyone but especially Kari Sirles, my amazing and beautiful mother. Per the request of my Aunt Michele and Cynthia Leach, they wanted me to make this GoFundMe. Without my mom, Kari, in our lives my little brother and I would be without any parents. Our father, Tim, passed away from heart failure. Our mom is the only one we have left and we can’t lose her too!! At first, she was blindly diagnosed with kidney stones, then Uterine cancer but since then we have found out that her cancer is much more complex than that. She has a type of cervical cancer that only effects 10,000 women in the world. Yesterday, November 8 th, my mom was rushed back into the ER at The Massey cancer center at VCU. She had been so ill, non-stop pain, unable to eat for four days that they admitted her. They are taking excellent care of her and her care team is absolutely amazing. However, the horrible news continues....Her cancer has mestasized to her lungs, lymph nodes, pelvic lymph nodes and bladder. . At first, we were hoping for a quick surgery and a cancer-free Kari but now, we are looking at intense chemotherapy and a rough recovery. I am making this GoFundMe because, for starters, my mom has no health insurance at this time, due to the vicious cycle of Obama care and Medicaid. She doesn’t make enough money for Obama care and makes too much money for Medicaid. This money will go to health expenses for the recovery of my beautiful mother. We have been overwhelmed with the love and support you all have given us over the past couple weeks.
