Kari and Shawn Rath's Medical Fund

Kari Rath's husband, Shawn, has been battling Stage 4 Melanoma cancer since 2015. Shawn has endured countless chemo and radiation treatments, immunotherapy, surgeries, hospital stays in KC and Houston, and numerous other medical issues that have popped up along the way. Due to the Melanoma, Shawn has tumors in his brain and sacrum (back).  As a result of all the surgeries and chemo treatments, he is now battling pulmonary emboli and separate blood clots in his arms and brain.

Kari, Shawn and their son, Patrick, have all been impacted by these life changing events. Both Kari and Shawn have willingly sacrificed their careers to focus on battling the "Big C" fight. As you might expect, medical bills and everyday life expenses continue to add up. Please consider helping this fantastic family navigate through this extremely difficult time in their life.

The cost of fighting cancer is physical, mental and emotional. 

There is the toll on your body when you endure multiple surgeries and treatments in a short amount of time.

There is the emotional because you realize you are helpless and have to focus all of your energy just to keep up your daily fight against the BIG C and must rely on your spouse or partner to be the main supporter and caregiver for your family.

Your donation will help with the day to day expenses that occur when you are living away from your home base and sitting up a second residence in hospital waiting rooms; it will help to keep their home base running with electricity and water; it will also help in paying the extra expenses that are occurring from multiple surgeries and treatments that may not be covered by their current medical insurer.
