Medical Fund for my sis Karen Young

Hi !

My name is Mike Bowman. I started this page to help out my older sister Karen Young.

She never wanted to ask for help. Her family stepped up anyway.

Today's story in the Journal Review.

------------------------------

TODAY IS THE DAY. I will keep it short and sweet.

I got a text message from Karen very early this morning.

It says " OK. My hair is gone. I Look pretty good! "

This morning at 10 I will start to cut off ALL MY HAIR in support of Karen's battle with CANCER !

Please watch it LIVE ON FACEBOOK on my home page starting around 9:30 AM.

SHARE this with your friends. We have raised OVER $3,800 for Karen. Lets get that total OVER $5,000 today !

-------------------------------

Karen Young is not one to ask for help. Not from family and certainly not from strangers. But the cancer, the seizures, the job loss and the financial pressures have beaten her down.

As happens with many people fighting a serious illness, she's lost her savings, her stamina and her sense of security.

But what she has is a family that is circling the wagons, doing what it can to carry her burden for a while.

---------------

The verdict is in: Stage 3C.

Again in her own words ... Stage 3. YUCK.
But look. This is doable. I must admit though, it is with tears that I type I know this is gonna get rough. But it could have been worse. There is a lot of good news in there with all that nasty stuff.

I got this! No, no, no. WE got this. I cannot get through it without the love and support of all of you!

But we WILL get through this. We WILL beat this this nasty ass cancer!

She starts her first chemo treatment in the middle of July. She still has to get a port put in, get a PET scan, and meet with the radiologist before we begin.

She says - When I do begin the chemo, it's not gonna be fun. Like most things in my life, I do it big. I don't get the typical once every 3 week treatment plan. No, I get to have chemo treatments once a week.

YIKES!! Once a week for 4-6 months. And with that, I get to go back daily for blood tests. Daily blood tests?! I guess they need to be certain they are leaving me with enough viable blood to sustain life? Ee Gads

----------

What does this all mean and why am I asking for donations ? Well Karen and her family are going to need a lot of help over the next 4-6 months. Not just prayers and well wishes. They will need some financial help to get by. They will need help with transportation 5-6 days a week and help to cover other everyday expenses.

She told me she did not want to ask for help. I told her you don't have to ask. We all will help out.

So I am looking for my family and friends and strangers to help her out in any way they can be it $1 or $10 or $100.

We would like to get her and the family the donations by August 1st.

TEAM BOWMAN will be there to help her and the family out. But sometimes you need a BIGGER TEAM !

Who wants to JOIN !

For those that can help out - THANKS. Some we may know - some may be complete strangers who want to help out - again THANKS !
