Hello everyone. My name is Joni and I am knocking at your kinds hearts for a very good friend of mine considered as one of the family, Anna Katrina Chen. Here is her story.
Anna Katrina Chen or also "Kara" among her friends and family has recently been diagnosed with colon cancer possibly with metastasis to her liver.
Kara is only 34 years old born and raised in Bacolod City Philippines, but is now living in Cebu to find a better future. For the past couple of months, Kara had been having stomach bloating, loose bowel movements and blood in the toilet bowl after a bowel movement.
With the guidance of her family, Kara went to see a gastroenterologist on May 25th and had colonoscopy on 27th of May which showed multiple masses in her colon suggestive of cancer. On June 1, 2017 Kara underwent CT scan of the abdomen which reported multiple large bulky masses in her entire large intestine which showed cancer malignancy and liver metastasis. Because of these findings, her doctor has advised surgery (taking out her entire large instestine) as soon as possible to prevent spreading to the rest of her body. They are now raising funds for her surgery as Kara has been out of work since November 2016. They are looking at a sum of 1,00,000 Php or $20000 for her medical expenses surgery and hospitalizations.
This is a very expensive and long journey for Kara. Any kind ways be it monetary donations or by forwarding this link to others will be of great help to her.
