Since May 2021, we're fostering an orphaned Red-Necked Wallaby joey. Thanks to the generous help of Australian and German kangaroo experts, the joey thrived, and we learned a lot about the very special around-the-clock care young macropods (kangaroos & relatives) need.
With our professional background as a biologist and a biogeochemist, and as volunteer wildlife rescuers and rehabbers, we're now setting up Sweden's first Macropod Rescue & Rehab facility to help zoos and other macropod keepers to save the lives of their sick and orphaned joeys.

WHAT THE FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR:
- To cover costs for kangaroo milk replacer (150 to 200SEK per litre), artificial kangaroo teats (10 to 20SEK per week per joey), an incubator with humidity control and heart-sound simulator for very young joeys (8.000 to 15.000SEK), material for artificial pouches, etc..
- To cover veterinary costs.
- To build an enclosure that allows older joeys to safely roam our orchard and forest, so they can express and learn natural behaviours (20.000SEK). FINISHED
- To write a free, downloadable guide on essentials of first aid, physical examination, feeding, etc., and of course our contact details if anyone has questions or needs help. FINISHED
