Hello, Friends!
I am going on a Mission trip to Santiago, Dominican Republic for my spring break in March, 2018 with eight of my nursing school classmates. We will be working with a local ministry, setting up medical clinics in many villages to provide for the basic needs for the people of Santiago. Because of the high level of poverty and low level of education, people don’t have access to basic things that we take for granted like clean water and quality medical care. Our group will work on meeting these physical needs as well as spiritual needs in the .
During our time in Santiago, we will; set up a medical clinic to provide health screenings and educate the locals on proper health/ hygiene practices, and we'll also get to play games, lead crafts, and love on kids at the local church!
All donations will go towards travel, lodging, supplies for the medical clinics, educational tools, hygiene kits and resources for the locals!
My goal is to raise $2500 to cover the costs of the trip and supplies, support this community and show them the love they need and deserve! This will be my first mission trip and I am so excited to take part in this amazing opportunity. If you can donate, every little bit helps and your support means the world to me. If you can't donate, I would love your prayers toward this trip as it will be a lot of blood, sweat, and tears I presume.
I've been trying to learn more spanish and practice with spanish speaking patients in the hospital. So far my biggest set back in spanish is remembering that Head is Cabeza, not Cerveza.... which is beer! They're just so similar... I promise I'll keep working on it. ;)
