Kameron Lopez

Lance Corporal Kameron Lopez passed away on the morning of June 19th, 2022, surrounded by family and close Marine friends. He was just 23 years old.

Kameron was loved deeply by friends and family. His passion for life was infectious. His dedication to serving and defending our country continues to be inspiring. He had an incredible sense of humor and the world's best smile. He was extremely likable and profoundly kind. There will never be another person quite like him.

Christi, Kameron's Mom, and her husband Jack are tireless and industrious providers for their family and are shy about asking for help, but they truly need our assistance. Christi and Jack moved from Los Angeles County to Utah in January of this year (to find an area with a lower cost of living). Christi has been at her current job barely a month and has not yet accrued any PTO (Paid Time Off).

Jack is an independent sales contractor and, as such, does not get any PTO.

Between visiting Kameron in the hospital in NC, preparing for the funeral, and attending Kameron's burial, Christi and Jack must spend many days away from their workplaces without pay.

While the Marine Corps is reimbursing Christi's family for some of their expenses over this past week, those reimbursements will only cover a portion of their actual costs. There is a budget limit to what the Marine Corps can spend on her family's travel and lodging. Meanwhile, travel prices have inflated to unprecedented levels-- especially for short-notice travel arrangements surrounding the Summer holidays.

Please help ease Christi's anguish so unprecedented financial worries will not compound her time of mourning.

Note: Christi and Jack are also planning to assist some of Kameron’s Marine Corps friends with travel across the country to attend his funeral.

A celebration of the life of Lance Corporal Kameron Lopez will be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Old North Church, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California 90068 on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, beginning at 9 a.m.

Friends and family members are invited to share memories of Kameron at a reception at Oneonta Congregational Church, 1515 Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena, CA 91030 following the funeral service.
