Into the Horizon

Ciao Loves!


Through the use of gofundme.com, I am raising funds to go on my highly anticipated Study Abroad Trip to Milan, Italy this summer. The selection process for this trip alone is rigorous. Only 20 students out of thousands of applicants were selected to go. Thankfully, I was blessed to be one of the chosen 20. The program itself costs $7,400 and the flight will cost anywhere between $2,000-$3,000. Although the trip isn't until June, the final payment is due in May 2014. If you are drawn to sew into a dream that I've been anticipating for the past 5 years, I would be forever grateful. Thank you for all the support and love that I've already received. Below is a bit more of an explanation of why I chose study abroad over any other course requirements.


Throughout life I find that some experiences are of priceless value. Study abroad is one important aspect that will provide me with an overall experience filled with smaller ones like culture, opportunity to break personal and societal limits, and traveling with concurring individuals. Attending college and engaging academically is one thing, but partnering that experience with another feature like study abroad is ambitious, life changing, and driven. Study abroad would complement my academic experience by engulfing me into an unfamiliar place, compelling me to learn habits, customs, methods, and traditions in their social and academic livelihood. Studying in Milan will expose me to fashion abroad in relation to global influence. Study abroad will contribute to my personal, professional, and educational growth by allowing me the opportunity to break out of the circumference of my comfort zone so that I can become a worldly individual in addition to a better and well-rounded being. I can use this opportunity to network and connect with peers, instructors, business owners, and organizations. This can help me in the long run with life after JWU and can also make me a primary source to inspire others to make the beneficial decision to study abroad as well.
