Production of a fitness/adventure show for youth

Growing up during the 70’s and early 80’s while watching shows, inspired me as a young man for adventure!  I used to watch Jacque  Cousteau, Wild Kingdom, and That’s Incredible…These shows left an impression on me that life IS an adventure…I loved watching television and wanted to someday have my own show to inspire young people and the young at heart. The shows inspired me to dream as a kid and ask the question, "What if I could do that...?"  Remembering childhood friends and how we would imagine traveling to exotic locations, scuba diving in the oceans, and bumping into exotic sea life... Dreaming of adventure to be had on the high seas or remote locations where treasures were discovered!

Fast forward 20 years after serving in the US Air Force and opening my own business of teaching fitness bootcamps, I noticed how my clients wanted to go out and do outdoor adventures.  So, I helped train individuals to get in shape in order to open water kayak, mountain bike, or rock climb.  My business was named Xodus Adventures…Leaving behind the ordinary and preparing to live life as an adventure!  What solidified my resolve to someday have a television show, was my involvement in an adventure camp called NorthBay in Maryland where I was the Adventure Coordinator and co-host to a show that was done in the evening called Extreme Science.

Using environmental education to teach life and character lessons, the kids were the heroes of the program.  It was a hit with the kids that came and we wanted to take it nationally.  However, life has a funny way of changing things…I wound up leaving Maryland and moving to Colorado to be closer to family.  After 4 years of living in Durango, Colorado, working and training clients, we relocated near Grand Junction, Colorado…The bug to have my own show never really died in all of the adventures and just needed an opportunity.

That opportunity came in October 2017 when I attended a publicity summit that introduced me to one of the main organizers of TEDx Wilmington.  I pitched an idea to speak on inspiring young people to turn off their devices and live life as an adventure!  In December 2017, I fulfilled a HUGE bucket list item.  I gave a TEDx Talk in Wilmington Delaware over this topic.  Then the bottom dropped out from underneath me…

My life took an unexpected turn with moving, multiple jobs, and family issues…Then one day, I saw an ad for a media group looking for ideas for shows for the upcoming television season.  I submitted my idea and got a call back.  The excitement was palpable and the connection instant.  Now here is the nitty-gritty of what has to happen because I am close to seeing this dream become a reality…

I raised $1,772.00 to help produce the trailer for the new show in which the media group is helping to produce and write.  For the pilot show to pitch with a following, the cost is $10,000.00.  Our goal was reached to film the trailer and edit it and now it to film the pilot as we gather interest for followers…For this to become a reality, I need YOU to help pitch in to make this a reality.  We want real kids as a part of our show to inspire to get in shape so as to live life as an adventure.  We want to offer content that is meaningful and full of tools on how to be prepared to navigate our world without being distracted by our devices.  So, imagine an episode that would feature young people getting important fitness and wellness instruction in order to dive along the Florida coast to document slave ships that  sank during the days of the slave trade as an example...We would talk about the importance of preparation for the trip as well as the lessons learned along the way that transfer over into important life lessons on goal setting!

Instead of watching everyone else have their adventure, we create our own…If that’s you then help us make this dream a reality and be a part of a magnificent opportunity!  Who will benefit?  young people, families and adults  Why this show?  Because this gives the opportunity to believe in something again while teaching important life skills!  How can you become involved?  You will be part of something created by the people for the people to invest in future generations.  What do I get if I donate towards this project?  For anyone who invested in the trailer of $100 or more, you will receive credit on the Pilot when we finish filming and editing to bringing this dream to fruition!  For anyone who gives a $1000 or more will not only receive credit but also have a private screening of the pilot along with a presentation of the marketing to promote the show.  We have 6 weeks to make the second phase happen.  Deadline is June 1st, 2019 or before!  Can you help me spread the word and get this funded?  Let’s get it done and move to the next phase and fast!

I have a concept of the show below as well as a TED talk that I had the opportunity to share my passion in 2017!
