Help Kalina Save Vieques

My best friend needs help.
For those who also know and love Kalina Smith, you know of the beautiful life she has built for herself and her community in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Hurricane Maria devastated Vieques, even worse than the main island since Vieques is so remote.
They have no power and no clean water. Bottled water is expensive, but the only option. For all food, they rely on canned military rations. Yesterday’s “entrée” was 4oz of potted liquid meat. Ice is extremely limited and there is no refrigeration.
They cannot swim or bathe in the ocean because the water is contaminated. Clothes, towels and sheets must be hand washed and quickly mold due to heat and humidity. They are literally camping in their homes, for those lucky enough to still have a home.
They are looking at months with no power and the government cannot provide any more detail.
Vieques is in a state of emergency and needs our help. They have a solution! Solar energy offers the best hope for providing sustainable power to the island. One of Kalina’s neighbors taught himself how to build solar panels for $5,000 without any special appliances, and the panels work! They are currently providing power for three houses. Now what they need is funding to build more panels around the community, including Kalina's 4 bedroom airbnb, which would provide a safe space for others in need.
